This site was a project created as a part of the Duke Master's in the Art of Teaching course on Adolescent Psychology.
The guiding question to the information found on this site is "How are self-esteem and identity related and how does this influence learning". The information found on this site is intended to help people have a better answer to these questions exploring what self-esteem is, how self-esteem relates to different factors, and self-esteem and learning.
The information was found using a literature review with 15 sources produced in the last 15 years. Each of the studies cited were conducted in the United States. These sources were pulled from variety of academic journals, including Psychological Bulletin and Childhood Education. Cognitive, psycho-social, and sociocultural theories have influenced the lens through which I am presenting my research.
I hope that your exploration of this site will help you have a better understanding of the topics explored here.
